Kendra Capalbo, LICSW — Concierge Couples Therapist

I Only See Couples

Most therapists work with everyone — individuals, families, kids, the elderly, sometimes the family dog. I see couples. Only couples.

If you needed cancer treatment, you wouldn't pick the oncologist who also does dentistry. Couples therapy is no different. My training, my reading, and my continuing education are focused on one thing. You're not the occasional couples case in my week. You're the work.

The couples who work with me are high-functioning and accomplished — privately carrying a relationship that has not kept pace with the rest of their lives. They have tried the standard approaches. They want something more precise. This practice was built for that.

A Different Kind of Practice

I built this practice specifically for couples like you.

90-Minute Sessions

Complex problems don't fit in 50-minute slots. We go deep, move efficiently, and accomplish real transformation.

Designed to End

This work has a purpose and a finish line. We create real change, then you leave therapy and live differently. The goal is your independence, not ongoing sessions.

Smaller Caseload = More Access

I work with fewer couples intentionally. Flexible scheduling, quick response times, and availability when you need it.

Virtual & Completely Confidential

No waiting rooms. No chance encounters. Meet from the privacy of your home via secure, HIPAA-compliant video.

Accountability Without Blame

I will ask both of you to look at your own role in the pattern. Not to assign fault, but because taking responsibility is the fastest way out of pain.

What's Possible

Sleep at Night Again

Stop the endless mental loops. Move from anxiety and uncertainty toward clarity and peace.

Actually Feel Connected

Rediscover the person you fell in love with. Build something deeper than what you had before.

Stop Walking on Eggshells

Have real conversations without them exploding. Learn to disagree without disconnecting.

Know Where You Stand

Whether you stay together or separate, do it with clarity—not confusion and regret.

Where High-Achieving Couples Struggle Most

I specialize in five key areas:

General Couples Therapy

For couples who need more than surface-level help. When you've tried the quick fixes and they didn't work.

Infidelity Recovery

Rebuilding trust after betrayal. This work is hard, but couples who commit often build something stronger.

Intimacy & Sex Therapy

Reconnecting when the spark has faded. We address both the emotional distance and the physical disconnect.

Neurodiverse Partnerships

Creating connection when one or both partners are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADD/ADHD, or both. Standard advice doesn't work here.

Maintenance Therapy

Protecting what you've built. Proactive support for couples who want to stay connected and catch small issues early.

Marriage Counseling and Couples Therapy

If you are looking for marriage counseling, this is that work. Marriage counseling and couples therapy describe the same service here: private 90-minute sessions with a therapist who sees couples only, licensed across Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island. This site says couples therapy; what you get is the same specialist work either way.

What sets it apart is the format rather than the label. Sessions run 90 minutes instead of the standard 50, the caseload is small on purpose, and the work is built to reach a finish line rather than continue indefinitely. The practice is fully virtual — every regular session is a secure, HIPAA-compliant video call, so where you live inside those four states does not limit access, and there is no waiting room to sit in.

Three places to start, depending on what brought you here: marriage counseling for busy professionals if scheduling is the obstacle, marriage counseling after infidelity if you are rebuilding after an affair, and intensive couples therapy for what the longer session format makes possible.

How It Works

1

Consultation

A $100 consultation to tell me what's happening. I'll tell you what I see. We'll both decide if this is the right fit. The fee applies toward your first session.

2

Assessment Phase

We begin with a thorough assessment—one session together, then individual sessions with each partner. Then we create a roadmap together.

3

Real Work, Real Change

We start with weekly sessions to build momentum. As you demonstrate real follow-through outside the room, we reduce frequency. The goal is to get you out of therapy, not keep you in it.

The Investment

$750 per 90-minute session

The fee reflects what this work actually requires: longer sessions, a smaller caseload, and a therapist who stays focused on your progress between appointments. Most couples need fewer total sessions because we accomplish more in each one.

I do not accept insurance. However, I can provide documentation for potential out-of-network reimbursement. See FAQs for details.

Quick Answers

Where do sessions take place?

All sessions are virtual via secure video. I'm based in Cambridge, MA and licensed across Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

View service areas →

How long does therapy typically take?

The work is designed to create real movement, then end, but the duration is determined by the amount of work couples are willing to invest outside of session.

Read more FAQs →

Why 90-minute sessions?

Couples therapy requires time to get past the surface. At the 50-minute mark, you're often just getting to the real issue.

Learn about my approach →

What if only one partner wants to come?

I work with couples, but individual sessions can be helpful during the assessment phase. We'll discuss what makes sense.

Schedule a consultation →

Is this marriage counseling or couples therapy?

Both. They are the same work here, provided to married and committed couples across Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

Do you offer intensive sessions?

Every session runs 90 minutes rather than the standard 50, which is what makes it possible to get past the surface and finish a conversation in one sitting.
